The German police began an investigation into the suspicion that parents living in the Bawar village had not been released from their son ' s home for 30 years.
A man now 43 years old has not been seen in a village near Bayroit in Bavaria since he stopped attending school at the age of 13.
The police reported that the man did not look very well, but did not show any signs of malnutrition. The authorities also stress that they do not intend to charge their relatives at this time.
A man's mother told the local press that he just didn't want to leave the house, and that she just kept him safe.
The police became aware of this strange disappearance only in September after an anonymous tip. The man was taken to the hospital for examination.
His name shall not be disclosed in connection with strict German laws protecting the right to privacy.
Bavaria Police believe that this may not be a crime but a tragic family situation.

We don't know yet the true nature of this situation - for example, whether he had the opportunity to leave his house."
"Maybe he wanted to live like that himself," he added.
The documents of 30 years ago indicate that the school authorities decided that the person was unable to attend classes.
In interview Nordbayerische Kurier, his mother told her that no one saved her son. "He just didn't want to leave the house," she said, adding that she and her husband had never locked him up.
The hospital in Bayroit reported that the condition of the man was "like it should have been expected in such circumstances," without adding any details.
